Webquest Assignment - Climate Change

This class introduced me to the webquest world. As I am not an educator, I had no exposure to the concept of webquests in education. I chose to create a webquest that focused on climate change. We were tasked with creating a lesson that included tasks, resources, assessment and a presentation component. This assignment allowed me to be creative with the lesson plan and my first endeavor into designing a rubric for the assignment.

Audacity Training Class

As a group project we did a presentation on using Audacity, a audio editing tool, for use in education. I was in charge of showing the class how to actually use the tool for general editing purposes. The advantage with this tool is that it is free to download and the learning curve is small. It includes the basic tools for editing without the sticker shock. I decided to show all the toolbar functions and included an exercise that allowed the classroom to take the provided audio files and do some common editing tasks in order to get them accustomed to using this powerful tool. This assignment revealed that I need to understand my audience and make adjustments to accommodate those users who are limited in their exposure to technology.
